YOUR HOSTS

You wouldn’t guess it...

Your hosts Vladka & Richard are a unique blend of Czech and Kiwi and therefore bring you the best of international and local flavour.

Vladka was born and raised in the well-known spa town of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic, has a Diploma in Agriculture Management, a Bachelor Degree in Tourism Marketing & Management and for last few years she has run her own travel consultancy business focused to the Middle Europe market. In conjunction with this she has travelled and guided extensively through New Zealand and Australia.

She is a member of the Wakatipu Search & Rescue Group as an avalanche and wilderness dog handler, is passionate about the outdoors, writing and photography and is a competent horse woman.

Richard is a born-and-bred Southern Man and Glenorchy (particularly Rees Valley) is his home through three past generations of the Kennetts - local high country farmers and miners.

He has dedicated his working life to conservation work in national parks as a ranger, loves history and landscaping and all the rock walls you can see at Precipice Creek came from his patient hands... Richards is also a well experienced Search and Rescue advisor for the Wakatipu region.

But - this is just a small part of our Precipice Creek family. If you take a good look, you will meet three cute Jack Russell terriers Sumo, Sharky and Brandy (well - you don’t have to have a good look - they will be definitely the first to greet you) and the big black Labrador Jacques, who is the Search & Rescue asset here.

You can also see our four elegant equine ladies - grey Misty May who is the 35+ grandma anglo-arab, vibrant and friendly bay Xena, our momma Impie, the chestnut madam (Swedish Warmblood broodmare) and the very latest arrival - "Glen of Orchy" aka Geena. She is our very promising sporthorse filly by the Hannoverian dressage Warmblood Sire "Kinnordy Gym Bello (from Astek Stud Christchurch).
And of course the bossy boss Rosie the grey cat.
